About Lite-On
Lite-On, also referred to as LiteOn or LiteON, is a Taiwanese manufacturer of consumer electronics such as motherboards, semiconductors, monitors, LEDs, and much more. Lite-On was first established in 1975 by various ex-Texas Instrument employees, and their initial focus was on the creation of LEDs. Soon after, they extended into computer power supplies with a new division, and the following years saw more expansion Lite-On continued to diversify their offerings.
In 1983, Lite-On held an initial public offering with their listing as the first technology company on the Taiwanese Stock Exchange. Beginning in the turn of the century, Lite-On also began acquiring businesses and forming joint ventures to increase their operations. Leading into the present, Lite-On has closed out a sale of their SSD business to Kioxa and continues to manufacture a variety of consumer electronics.
